Those of us who suffer from anxiety conditions often find ways to cope with the anxious thoughts and stressors we encounter. Most often, the coping mechanisms we find are unhealthy ones. According to the American Psychological Association, “27% of adults say they eat to manage stress and 34% of those who report overeating or eating unhealthy foods because of stress say this behavior is a habit”. We all know how hard it is to break a bad habit but breaking a bad habit that has helped us cope with an underlying condition is nearly impossible without treating the root cause of the issue.

If you suffer from anxiety and/or stress, and cope with emotional eating, we urge you to try regular use of CBDs. CBDs have an all-natural healing impact on mood regulation. Studies have shown an increase in blood flow to the parts of the brain that regulate mood when CBDs are in use. But the correlation between CBDs, anxiety and emotional eating isn’t where the research ends when it comes to CBDs and weight loss.

A recent study published in the scientific journal, Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, studied the correlation of CBDs on immature fat cells. The purpose of the study was to see if CBD use had any impact on preventing obesity. In order to do so, they looked specifically at immature fat cells, and in doing so, they found the following encouraging results.

  1. Regular CBD use appeared to stimulate the genes and proteins that impact the breakdown of fat cells.
  2. Participants of the study who took part in regular CBD use exhibited an increase in the number and activity of cellular mitochondria. If it’s been a while since your sophomore biology class, mitochondria are lovingly referred to as the “powerhouse of cells”, in the sense that they produce the energy necessary for cellular activity.
  3. Most miraculously, the study showed that CBDs seemed to DECREASE THE DIVISION OF FAT CELLS.
